Our Homemade StoryDoug and I started our business in January of 2014, and I will never forget the first table he made—or our very first customer who bought it. It was a big deal because at that time we didn't even have furniture. We were eating off of cardboard boxes in order to save or money and live our dream of becoming debt free. Looking back now, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come.
We started in our garage, searching for old wood on the side of the road—pieces that others had thrown away. We would bring them home, transforming what looked like trash into something special. Our focus was simple: living a meaningful life for God, growing our business, and spending time with our boys. From our humble garage beginnings to a rented warehouse, and now a fully owned, 14,000-square-foot building—completely debt-free—our journey has been nothing short of incredible. But what truly makes it special is how our own need for furniture led us to our greater purpose: giving new life to reclaimed wood. As we’ve discovered purpose in our work, God has blessed us abundantly, teaching us to serve not just our customers but also our team. This business is more than just a source of income—it’s a testament to faith, hard work, and the beauty of second chances. We hope our story inspires you to pursue your dreams wholeheartedly! |
